Inspection and written scope
We get on the roof, photograph what we find, and give you a line-item scope. You see the pictures, not just a total.

Material and color selection
You pick from physical samples on your actual roof, in daylight. If your neighborhood has architectural review, we prepare the submittal and wait for written approval before ordering.

Scheduled start and finish
You get firm dates in writing. Most single-family replacements are a one-day tear-off and install; larger or steeper roofs run two.

Tear-off and decking check
Everything comes off so we can see the deck. Anything soft gets replaced at the price you already approved.

Install
New underlayment, new flashing, new ventilation, then shingles. Six nails per shingle as standard, not four.

Cleanup and walkthrough
Two magnetic sweeps, debris hauled, and a walkthrough with you before we ask for final payment.

- How much does a new roof cost in the Birmingham area?
- For a typical single-family home in the metro, architectural asphalt shingle replacement generally runs in the low-to-mid five figures, with the spread driven by size, pitch, complexity, and how much decking has to be replaced. Steep or cut-up roofs cost meaningfully more than open ones of the same square footage. We give you a firm line-item number after we have actually been on your roof — anyone quoting you off a satellite image alone is guessing.
- How long does a roof replacement take?
- Most single-family homes in this area are a one-day job: tear-off in the morning, dry-in and install through the afternoon. Larger homes, steep pitches, or roofs with a lot of valleys and dormers run two days. We give you the number of days in writing before we start rather than saying 'weather permitting' and leaving it there.
- Do I have to replace the whole roof, or can you do just one section?
- Sectional replacement is possible and sometimes it is the right call, especially if one slope took storm damage and the rest is sound. The catch is color matching — shingle lines get discontinued and even the same product weathers differently, so a new section rarely blends invisibly. We will price it both ways and let you decide with that tradeoff in front of you.
- What is the best time of year to replace a roof in Alabama?
- Fall is ideal. Temperatures are moderate enough for shingles to seal properly without the crew working in genuine danger, and you are past peak storm season. Summer installs are perfectly routine here but the heat slows crews down, and mid-winter installs need enough warmth for the sealant strips to activate. That said, if your roof is leaking now, the best time is now.
- Will you leave nails in my yard?
- We sweep with a magnet twice — once when the tear-off debris is cleared and again at the end of the job. We will not claim it is impossible to ever miss one, but if you find nails after we leave, call us and we will come back out and sweep again.
